Hannah Thane B.Ost (Hons)

Sports Therapist and Osteopath

From an early age I have been performing in dance shows in theatres across the country. Having sustained many of the common injuries that are prone to dancers, I now have valuable insight on how these injuries occur and what can be done to treat them. I started my career as a massage therapist in 2013, then I progressed on to Sports therapy, joining the Coles Clinic team in 2015.

I studied at the Active Health Academy in Manchester, acquiring a distinction for Level 5 Advanced Diploma in Clinical Sports Therapy. I later followed this up with a qualification in Manipulative Therapy. I am also qualified in Medical Acupuncture as well as Shockwave Therapy. I am a member of the Sports Therapy Organisation (STO) and am fully insured through Balens Insurance.

In 2021 I gained a first-class honours degree in Osteopathy from College of Osteopaths, Staffordshire University in Stoke-On-Trent. I am a member of the Institute of Osteopathy and the General Osteopathic Council.

Lisa Hawkins Bsc Hons STO

Advanced Sports Therapist

For most of my life I have had some involvement in various sports, especially running and swimming. Having had many injuries & niggles over the years I feel my experiences can help with the treatment and rehabilitation of our clients. However, this does not mean that I treat sports injuries alone! I’m happy to help anyone who has concerns with pain or would like advice on rehabilitation.

I have been with the Cole’s team since November 2020 & love being part of this amazingly talented team. I studied BSc Sports Studies at Staffs University & then later went to Active Health in Manchester to gain a distinction in L5 Advanced Clinical Sports Therapy. I am also qualified in Medical Acupuncture as well as Shockwave Therapy. I am a member of the Sports Therapy Organisation (STO) and am fully insured through Balens Insurance.
I look forward to meeting and welcoming you to Coles and helping with any concerns you may have.

Hannah Beard B.Ost (Hons), PGCE, BA (Hons)

Hannah qualified with first-class honours from the College of Osteopaths in Stoke-On-Trent in 2019. Throughout her training, Hannah gained hands-on experience working for herself, in her local rugby club and for private osteopathic clinics, as well as working in the teaching clinic in Hartshill.

In the three years post-graduation, Hannah has worked for the NHS as an employed Osteopath working in a Physiotherapy department during the COVID-19 pandemic where she gained much more experience in complex pain presentations and learned what really works in rehab. She has taken part in CPD including recognising red flags and MSK masqueraders and presented CPD to her peers on rheumatological causes of MSK pain. Hannah strives to make good links with the local GP practices and make sure your needs are fully catered to. Hannah has additional qualifications in laser therapy and strapping and taping for sports injuries. Hannah currently uses structural techniques. She prefers to treat injuries broadly and particularly enjoys treating the lower limb.

Outside of work, Hannah is keen to be outdoors enjoying a variety of walking her dog, cycling, running and socialising with friends. She also plays rugby union for Crewe and Nantwich Women’s first XV.

Simone Bertoni BSc

Simone is a Pilates inductor and final-year osteopath. She initially trained as a Ballet Dancer and completed the Royal Academy of Dance exams in Classical Ballet. She studied and obtained a Dance Teachers Diploma at the University of Cape Town (UCT) Ballet School and majored in both contemporary dance and ballet. Due to a string of back injuries, Simone decided to try Pilates to help with her own injury rehabilitation. Pilates was so effective in helping her that she decided to make it her career. She studied at the South African Sports Science Institute and Exercise Teachers Academy under the tutelage of Renee Watson and qualified as a Pilates teacher shortly thereafter.

Simone owned and successfully ran two Pilates studios in Cape Town before moving to England in 2010. She continued teaching Pilates in Cheshire and also studied to gain Body Control Pilates certification and accreditation to add to her already impressive CV.
She has worked with a vast array of people from all walks of life including professional athletes requiring injury rehabilitation, dancers wanting specific conditioning or ladies needing a safe Pilates program to follow either pre- or postnatal.

Having worked alongside healthcare professionals such as physiotherapists, chiropractors and osteopaths for approximately fifteen years, Simone has learned from and developed a keen eye for posture analysis and biomechanics of the body to address postural issues or imbalances. She has tended to focus more on injury rehabilitation and injury prevention in recent times but her extensive dance training and experience enhance her Pilates and osteopathy service offering.

As part of her continuous professional development. Simone has attended various courses and workshops. These have included courses such as pregnancy and Pilates, pelvic floor, Small Ball, Theraband, Gym Ball, dance conditioning and muscle activation to name but a few. She is constantly looking to enhance and increase her knowledge and is currently studying towards a degree in Osteopathy at Staffordshire University.

Ella Howells

As a British Junior Champion Rower, I trained and raced at a high level for several years. During this time I suffered injuries and relied on regular physiotherapy to keep me in top shape for competing. This was where I discovered and nurtured my passion for the subject.

After gaining a BTec in Sports and Exercise Science, I went on to study Physiotherapy at Manchester Metropolitan University and graduated with a First Class Honours degree.

I have chosen to specialise in Musculoskeletal related conditions with dual interests in both sports rehab and the ongoing day-to-day MSK-related conditions that affect the quality of life for many people.
